Together Hope is Possible

Recently, our Afghan women’s group, many of whom are asylum seekers, created symbolic houses painted on pieces of driftwood. Like the driftwood, these women have been uprooted and forced to start over. By transforming each piece into a home and placing them side by side, they honored the strength it takes to rebuild and the power of creating community together in a new country.

This work helps us hold onto hope even as the situation for Afghan refugees becomes increasingly uncertain. Immigration processing for Afghan nationals, along with Burmese, Eritrean, Iranian, and several other communities, has been halted, leaving many facing renewed fear and instability.

That’s why we’re turning to our community for support. Together we can ensure that families are not left to face uncertainty alone. Together hope is possible.

We’re continuing to uplift our Defend Dignity campaign until  December 31st. Because of your generosity, we reached our Giving Tuesday goal and unlocked our matching gift! As of today, we’ve raised $9,547 to protect refugee and immigrant communities.
