Greetings from the CERI family! This month we’re celebrating our Wellness in Action grantees, who have successfully completed ten months of leadership and community advocacy training. Congratulations to the graduates! Our grantees, who are trusted community leaders and organizers for their respective communities, have also become community healers after this ten-month embodied wellness training. Each one of them brought light and life to the program, deepening and honing their skills through hands-on experience. They also went to the capital to advocate for the wellness of the community. Their final project, "Reground," was a community wellness event held at Clinton Park in Oakland this month. Facilitated by the grantees, Reground is a space where they share their talents and give back to the community, embodying the lessons and wisdom they have gained. We loved every moment, but especially the workshops that grantees facilitated. Grantees taught us laughing yoga, hosted a coffee ceremony, facilitated a “tapping” workshop, mosaic collage making, poetry reading, and more. They brought us together with offerings that were personal, experiential, and from the heart, helping us feel into our bones the expansiveness of what “healing” can look like for each of us.
