A Message from the Chair of the Board Little did I know, when I joined CERI, that my protocols for business practice were about to change significantly. For over 20 years, the heart of developing successful businesses in my consulting work was the age-old question of ‘how do we motivate employees, increase productivity while reducing overhead’. My vision changed during my first introduction to CERI’s employee management systems; I quickly learned the same philosophies which gave birth to CERI’s successful and unique model of providing holistic mental health also created a cohesive, productive and dedicated team surpassing all goals for our community. Since May was Mental Health Awareness month and June is National Employee Wellness month, I want to share with you CERI’s commitment for cultivating a nurturing environment, providing both mental and physical wellness, which extends to care for both community members and employees. As we shared with you in previous newsletters, a knock at CERI’s door is always answered. Our committed staff, whose mission is to serve our community wholeheartedly, has never had to be asked to ‘be more productive’. To the contrary, serving from the heart, our team willingly opens each door and takes on tasks at hand with an enthusiasm and commitment which I have never experienced in 20 years of business management. With the evident emotional toll of providing service in the mental health sector, CERI’s Directors have developed an honest space of care and practice for our entire team. Whether it is a comprehensive benefits package for both part time and full time employees, to a culture of care and curiosity with staff during regular check ins, seeing the whole person beyond the job description, CERI reinforces the sacredness of each individual’s mental, physical and emotional wellbeing beyond the boundaries of protocol. CERI’s unique dedication to staff has proven to be both productive for our community and a stellar business model of developing a team in the service of others, rendering to discovered satisfaction of meaningful work with emotional reward. I joined CERI’s team to contribute; however, I am the student learning skills based on CERI’s model of holistically nurturing motivation to meet ultimate goals for the greater good of any organization and their team. To our devoted and visionary CERI Directors, thank you for setting the foundation for our community in which the one who is serving feels equally cared for. To our dedicated and tireless CERI team, thank you for your relentless support of our community and answering to every knock at our door. To our dedicated Friends of CERI, without your financial support, we could not throw ourselves into work that is meaningful to all of us. Thank you one and all.
