We are excited to welcome Kathryn Winogura to the CERI team! Kathryn joined us in July, and serves as our Community Engagement and Development Director. She comes to us after three decades of working with refugee and immigrant communities, mobilizing volunteers and financial supporters.
Kathryn is originally from Los Angeles, but has been in the East Bay for most of her life. She graduated from UC Berkeley in Peace and Conflict Studies, and decided to dedicate her career to working with diverse refugee and immigrant communities. She last served for 23 years with an East Bay social service agency that resettles newcomer refugees. She developed innovative and successful models for community engagement, including: a volunteer team approach to resettling newcomers, a hosted housing program for LGBTQ refugees, and an extensive in-kind donation program which provided full furnishings to hundreds of families.
Kathryn is also a traveler, spending her free time over the years in mostly Vietnam, Indonesia, and Nepal. She enjoys spending time with her two adult children, tending to her garden, photography, cooking, and fun with friends and family. We look forward to her enthusiasm and longtime love for CERI, along with her energy to engage communities in support of refugees and immigrants. Would you like to contact Kathryn?
