This month we were so grateful to have our third annual all-staff retreat. We spent two days engaged in team bonding, deep reflection, and critical conversations to strategize about how to sustain our work. Intentional time for rest, nourishing meals, and dedicated moments in nature helped us connect back to our hearts and ground in our commitment to the healing and empowerment of refugee and immigrant communities through culturally and linguistically resonant mental health and social services. The power of our work was further emphasized in the last couple weeks. We witnessed at least four exciting wins in the cases of community members with active removal orders. The wins stopped detention, deportation, and family separation, and make it possible for community members to continue to work on their immigration cases. It’s not an easy road ahead, which is why the retreat and recent wins serve as important reminders that it is truly the strength of our relationships and communities that will guide us forward - and you are a part of that, too.
