“During my time at CERI, I worked as an intern for the Elevated Youth California (SEA-ME) program, which strived to get more youth to participate in activism and leadership in order to foster change in policies regarding racism, mental health, gun violence, etc. Whilst working at CERI, I helped create flyers, researched important issues, created lesson plans, and facilitated workshops. I’m so grateful I got this experience, as it has allowed me to work with some amazing people, as well as meet many inspiring youth. I was able to really connect with everyone within this community, and was so grateful I could help others learn and foster leadership skills, as well as foster my own as well! Overall it’s an experience I won’t forget, and I’m excited to return once again in the fall!” ~ Youth Summer Intern & EYC participant This November we are raising funds to launch our critical Youth Wellness and Enrichment program. Our children and youths need and deserve culturally and developmentally appropriate support for socio-emotional learning, behavioral health, cultural enrichment, mental health awareness and prevention, and academic support. While we have leadership, advocacy and workforce development opportunities for our young people, we also want to create more spaces focused on mental health and wellness where youths can learn healthy coping strategies, relational skills, and emotion regulation tools to cultivate joy and identify their dreams and goals. With CERI’s holistic wraparound services (that include individual and group counseling, case management, mentoring, job readiness, and other support services), at-promise youth and young adults receive the support needed to address intersectional issues in their lives, including mental health, poverty, and racism. Will you help us strengthen holistic healing opportunities for our youth?
