Samira Sheahan


Samira Sheahan is a student in drama therapy and counseling psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She was an actor and theatre educator in Washington, DC for many years but moved to the Bay area for its drama therapy and its mountains. Previously, she studied theatre for human rights and education in Ghana, South Africa, and Chicago. Empowering immigrant and refugee groups through theatre and therapy is her long-term passion and career goal. She is immensely grateful for the opportunity to work with and learn from the community at CERI. 


Sriyanta Karki


Sriyanta Karki is an MSW intern from California State University, Eastbay. Her concentration is community mental health. She has a bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs from the City University of New York. She has worked as a job coach and assessed work skills of consumers with developmental and mental health disabilities. Sriyanta has completed domestic violence counselor training and worked as a relief worker. She is also a trained multilingual access model language interpreter.  Sriyanta came to the United States as an immigrant from Nepal at a young age. Her personal life experiences as an immigrant and a survivor have helped her develop a strong passion to work with immigrants, refugees, and traumatized population. As an intern, at CERI, she has practiced trauma-informed care, culture-sensitive counseling, and facilitated groups under the supervision of clinical directors. Sriyanta is very excited to be part of the warm and welcoming CERI community.


Maria De la cruz

Zumba Instructor

Maria de la Cruz is a hairstylist and Zumba instructor who has enjoyed leading Zumba classes since 2011. She has been with CERI for four years, teaching classes three times a week. Zumba has truly become her passion, as she has witnessed the transformative and positive impact it has on her students. She encourages you to attend a class and see for yourself! ” 


Nina Sharif

ESL Teacher

Nina sharif came to US in 1976 from Iran to continue her education. she has a BA in sociology from UC Santa  Barbara and AA in Printing Technology SFCC. In 2016 she started teaching ESL to the women at CERI.
