Program Assistant
Joanna Lam (she/her) is a first-generation UC Berkeley grad, earning her B.A. in Political Economy, International Development, and Public Policy in December 2025. She started with CERI as an undergraduate intern with the Unbreakable Roots program in 2024. Joanna is passionate about closing systemic gaps in refugee and immigrant communities, stemming from her own experiences as a daughter of Khmer refugees: helping family members navigate public benefits, enrolling in school, and accessing healthcare.
Outside of CERI, Joanna is a fan of rock-climbing, the outdoors, traveling, and learning how to play the bass guitar. (And she is trying to improve her Khmer while at CERI) You can reach her at:
