Nowhere But Here is a short documentary which follows the lives of Rouen Pich & Kanley Souet-Pich from Oakaland, CA.

A Path To Healing is a documentary film that focuses on the lives of Cambodian refugees in Oakland, CA who have been a part of the Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrant (CERI) community for 20 years.

CERI offers a holistic array of culturally-sensitive bilingual services that support the mental health and well-being of refugee and immigrant clients who have multiple layers of complex needs. We integrate traditional services such as clinical mental health counseling and medication management with culturally/spiritually tailored intervention strategies.

A film made with and for Oakland’s intergenerational Cambodian community in partnership with CERI, created by Nadim Badiee and Ido Bartana.

Mona Afary, CERI’s Executive Director, shares at the Alameda County Board of Supervisors in May 2025 because it takes more than direct services to ensure that refugees and immigrants are seen, heard, and protected.

On October 12, 2019, Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrants celebrated the 40th anniversary of the end of Pol Pot regime in Cambodia. This commemoration was a tribute to survivors, celebrating their resilience and community.

Recap of an event featuring films and stories from refugees and immigrants and uplifting CERI’s work.
